Busy with Baners

The last week of the year is always a crapshoot. Some years, everyone is holding off because they’ve already spent their budgets, some years they have a little money left and they need to spend it. Especially since our customers are spending marketing money, they often operate this way.

This year they have a little extra in their budgets, and we are very busy! Which is nice- it hasn’t been this way in the last several years. We are making vinyl banners and custom wallpaper as fast as we can.

I’m hopeful this is the sign that things are starting to turn around in this economy. We could certainly use it!

Black and White Custom Wallpaper

Black and white photos present certain problems in the production of custom printed wallpaper, in this case in the Wright Museum, a WWII museum in Wolfeboro NH.

If you know what you are doing, though, you can get great results, as you can see from the photo they sent. In this case we printed on our Wall Fabric. That’s a great choice because the material is easily removable when they want to change the exhibit. And, of course, it looks terrific!

Whether you want traditional vinyl wallpaper, or our removable material, we can give you a very nice result from your black and white historical photos.

Today’s full color digital printing technology allows us to create striking vinyl banners! Imagine how much more attention a banner like this gets than the kind of thing we did 10 years ago.

A full color, attractive banner like this is also a lot easier to get permission to display. If it were a hokey banner of cut vinyl letters, who would want it on their property? Something like this attractive art is usually welcome.

The NH Master Chorale concert was fantastic, by the way!

Yes, it can be confusing sometimes. Our company is MegaPrint Inc., but when you do an online order for a research poster, it happens at postersession.com.

The reason is simple. We wanted to create a web site that just talked about our printing of scientific research posters. It’s a big part of what we do, and we didn’t want to clutter the site up with vinyl banners, trade show graphics, etc. So, we made a site that just talks about research posters.

We hope that makes things easier, and most of the time it does.

Still, people ask if we are MegaPrint or Postersession. The answer is, we are really both! When we charge your credit card, you’ll see it on your statement as MegaPrint Inc. Our emails will have a return address at megaprint.com. The rest, like your order confirmation, comes from postersesssion.com.

Here’s a great way to communicate the mission of a company: custom wallpaper that lets everyone know why they are here.

In this case our customer, Evergreen Rehabilitation, installed this beautiful wallpaper to let everyone know what the place is all about. It makes the building more attractive too.

Coming Soon Signage

Here’s an affordable and attractive way to announce a new store- using our wallboard vinyl as a temporary sign. This installation was in an airport, but it could just as easily been in a mall, sports venue, or other transportation center.

Since wallboard vinyl has “sticky note” glue, it goes up fast and when the time comes, it comes off easily leaving no residue. Since it’s all digitally printed, it can be done quickly and affordably.

Often, there’s construction going on behind the walls or windows, and this is a great way to hide that from the public as well as announce what will soon be there.

A Better Banner Stand

We recently introduced our “Standard” retractable banner stand, and it’s been well received. This is a full size 35-1/2″ wide and 83″ tall stand. The banner is made from a light blocking, 11 mil film that gives terrific color, long life, and you won’t see the shadow of the  pole when it is lit from behind.

These banner stands are 22% larger in area than an economy banner stand. That can be significant to getting your message across! Not to mention that the mechanism is more durable and the banner itself is made of a heavier material.

If you are passing the banner stands our to your distributors for free, use our economy banner stand. But, if you are trying to make maximum impact at your next trade show, our standard banner stand is the better choice. At $339, they are a bargain!

Step and Repeat Banners

We do quite a few of these. Usually the customer is taking photos at an event, or using them as a backdrop for a speaker. We call them step and repeat banners.

While people usually send us artwork ready to print, it’s easy enough to take the logos you have and space them evenly on the banner for you.

We print on a matte finish vinyl so that you don’t have trouble with glare. Usually we put pole pockets top and bottom. That allows them to be nice and straight when hung from a pole, with another in the bottom pocket to give it a little weight.

We can print up to 8 foot width by just about as long as you want to go. If you are doing 8 foot height, figure the pole pockets to take 3 inches top and bottom, so 7-1/2 feet visible.

Is this a Mural?

Mural or Not?

At first glance, this looks like your typical wall mural of birch trees.

Upon closer inspection, it is all old computer parts ty-wrapped together to look like birch trees. It’s a very interesting piece of wall art, and I really enjoyed it.

Of course, if you need a dozen of them, our wall murals would do the trick and be a lot faster and less expensive to produce.

Worst case, you take a photo of the original art and print it as wallpaper!

Used Trade Show Booths

Maybe a Little Too Used?

We had a call the other day from someone who wanted to buy a used trade show booth on Ebay. He was hoping we could produce new graphics for it, and he would have a booth at a bargain.

This can be done. But you need to be careful. First of all, it’s easy for a pop-up booth “skeleton” to get bent out of shape, and almost impossible to straighten them. If there are missing pieces, like the end caps on this booth, that will be an extra cost to replace. God help you if there are broken connectors, missing magnets, etc.

The facts are that the actual structure is not the expensive part of the booth- it’s the graphics, shipping case, and the lights. We charge about $900 for a set of four replacement panels for a booth like this, and $1850 for a full booth. If you buy the used booth for $500, you saved $450 if everything goes right. That doesn’t usually happen, though.

If you are really on a budget, we suggest you buy three banner stands to create a backdrop. You can do three of our standard banner stands for $957. They will be almost nine feet wide and will take you a few minutes to put up. Best of all, they’ll be brand new.
