Performing Arts Banners

Silver Center Banner

We made this banner to showcase the upcoming season at the Silver Center at Plymouth State University. They have it hung next to the main entrance of the performance hall to let people know about all the wonderful performances that will take place over the 2012-13 school year. There are over 70!

In this case, we printed the performing arts banner on a film rather than vinyl. We have found that vinyl will tend  to curl at the edges over a period of time- the industry calls it “canoeing” and it really looks bad. Since this banner will be up for almost a year, the film is a better choice since it will stay dead flat for years.

We also printed this performing arts banner with UV inks, so it won’t fade with sun exposure. Our UV inks are good for several years in this kind of application.

Sign Attachment

attaching a sign

Sign attachment with flat head screws

It is often the case that attaching a sign is a more complicated deal than printing it. Here’s a great way to attach a sign that we like a lot.

The sign material is Ultraboard, which is like foamcore except plastic on either side of the styrofoam instead of paper. We like it because it doesn’t warp with changes in humidity, is durable, and gives us nice crisp colors.

Our customer put screw anchors in the drywall, and then large head screws through the Ultraboard. This gives a nice clean appearance, and holds the sign securely. We have seen people use it for sintra signs outdoors too.

Medical Office Wallpaper

Dr. Wussow’s Office Wallpaper

Now here’s an example of how our wallpaper can really dress up an office! Dr. Wussow wanted to have a special feeling to his chiropractic office, and he asked us to make a wallpaper mural from a photo of the mountains. He found the photo on Shutterstock.com, and sent it to us.

His office is in the flatlands of Wisconsin, so seeing the mountains like this makes his office something pretty different! Perhaps when he’s done straightening out your back, you’ll be able to plan a mountain climbing trip.

We like to say that our wallpaper allows you to give a room the exact look and feel you want. We did it for Dr. Wussow, and we can do it for you!

Car Cutout Amuses Us

cardboard cutout of a car

Automobile Cutout

Every now and then we have someone ask for a cutout of something other than a person. We’ve done cartoon characters, huge insects, a horse, and even a forklift at full size. Here, we did a car and it was a lot of fun!

When you get to something this size, they are printed in sections. This one was three pieces 36″ wide and 48″ tall. We always need to be careful that the box is small enough that Fedex will take it, otherwise it will need to be shipped by truck and that can be pretty expensive.

Printing Direct to Board

Direct printing to ultra board

Direct printed sign

This is a flatbed printed sign we did for a local ice arena. It replaces several black and white sheets of paper taped to the wall to let people know the arena hours, prices, and a few rules. It’s so much more professional!

On top of that, people are much more likely to pay attention to your signage when it’s attractive. They might actually read it! With our direct printing process, you get full four color printing direct to the board, and at a photo realistic 720 dpi.

Direct printing to board like this is affordable too. This sign was a little over 3×6 feet in size, and cost about $200. Since it’s printed on ultraboard, which is plastic on either side of styrofoam, it will last for years and won’t bow with changes in humidity.

Lobby Wallpaper for a Bank

Bank of NH Wallpaper

This lobby wallpaper graces the headquarters of Bank of NH. They were renovating their lobby in conjunction with a name change of the bank, and wanted to make a statement! Almost everyone walking by as we were taking the picture told us how great looking the wallpaper is.

Originally, they had planned to use a bland tan colored geometric pattern wallpaper in the lobby. Everyone I talked to thinks the new wallpaper is a much better choice!

The paper is 11×30 feet in size, and was installed in 4 ft wide strips. It sure is dramatic, and shows the kind of excitement you can generate with a photo mural in bank lobby wallpaper.

Restaurant Wallpaper

Custom Wallpaper in a Yogurt Shop

When you are planning the wallpaper for a restaurant, there’s a lot of new technology that lets you do some pretty exciting things. In particular, digital printing of restaurant wallpaper allows you to have the exact look and feel you want in your restaurant.

You don’t have to look through rolls of wallpaper and hope to find something you sort of like. You can find a photo or use digital art to produce exactly the restaurant wallpaper you want.

In the photo at the right, our customer used digital art of swirls to give the feeling they wanted in a yogurt shop.

The other fun thing with our restaurant wallpaper is that you can do murals. You are not restricted to 30″ repeating patterns like you are with store bought wallpaper. You can have a picture that takes up the whole wall!

Street Light Banners

Street Light Banners

Banners to attach to street lights brackets

A great way to announce events is to put banners up on the street lights in your town. As people drive around, they become aware of the event, and attendance improves. They do a great job of publicity for not a lot of money.

This banner was one of a set of 10 to announce a music festival in our town. Not only did the street light banners help with ticket sales, but the musicians felt that the town welcomed them. It also dressed up the town!

Street light banners aren’t just for events. We’ve made them to simply make a town more welcoming, for a college to mention notable alums, and for a medical facility simply for decoration. Street light banners can do a great job for you too!

Fabric Wallpaper

Photo Collage Wallpaper

Photos on Fabric Wallpaper

Here’s a recent installation of our repositionable fabric wallpaper. Our customer, KPI-JCI, wanted to have a collage of their products being used, and they wanted to be able to install it themselves. Our repositionable fabric wallpaper fit the bill.

The great thing about repostionable fabric wallpaper is that when the time comes to take it down, it comes off the wall leaving no residue. The adhesive is a lot like that used on sticky notes, it holds it fine but is not really permanent.

Installing Custom Wallpaper

Installing wallpaper

wallpaper installation

Installation of custom wallpaper is a little different than installing store bought wallpaper, but it’s not really that hard. We’ve even got a video that shows how it’s done.

What’s different about custom wallpaper is that it’s not usually a repeating pattern. We are typically printing photos or digital art when we print custom wallpaper. Typically you’ll get our custom wallpaper in 48″ wide strips.

We print the custom wallpaper with an inch of overlap. You put the first piece up, and the second piece overlaps the first by an inch. You cut through both layers, removing the excess from above and below. When you brush it back down, you have a butt joint that matches perfectly, even if you didn’t cut a straight line. The seam in your custom wallpaper will be all but invisible.
